Google’s app for iOS has been upgraded to version 18.0 with enhanced support for 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The app now offers more functionality for 3D Touch than the pilot version that came out in December. Users can now avail of the devices’ ‘peek’ and ‘pop’ features by hard pressing on a title. This in turn offers a ‘peek’ preview of the linked page while pressing more forcefully ‘pops’ the page into fullscreen view.
Furthermore, deep pressing on the ‘G’ button in the bottom bar immediately initiates a search from anywhere within the app. Even devices without 3D Touch capability can be long-pressed for identical results.
The Google app can be downloaded from the App store for free.
