A Calgary teen is set to become a space tourist. The youth, who will be at least 18 years old when he takes off, is booked to blast off with commercial space travel company Virgin Galactic sometime in the next year or two, a travel agent confirmed.
“He’s an 18-year-old from Calgary, going with his family. They’re booked to go,” said Michael Broadhurst of Calgary-based Vision 2000 Travel, the Prairie representative for British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson’s spacecraft flights.
Broadhurst said he could give few details about the flight. The teenager and his family have asked to keep their names private.
